JTHTL encourages interdisplinary inquiry by publishing pieces from technologists, economists, and other non-lawyers in addition to attorneys and law professors. Accordingly, JTHTL accepts submissions for its spring issue from all professors, attorneys, government officials, industry professionals, and others active in technology and telecommunications law.
In addition to traditional long-form law review articles, JTHTL accepts short essays, op-eds, book reviews, casenotes, empirical research, and other alternative formats.
Submissions are accepted at any time. However, the editorial staff generally reviews submissions between April and November for publication the following spring.
JTHTL is a light-edit journal and does not accept submissions requiring major substantive changes. We offer editorial input for an accepted submissions to the extent that the author feels it will be helpful, but the author makes final decisions about whether to incorporate our suggestions.
JTHTL is a proponent of open scholarship, and our publishing agreement leaves copyright in an article in the hands of the author, subject to a one-year exclusive publishing license with exceptions for self-publication on SSRN and other websites. With an author's permission, we generally grant reprint requests.
